Highlander Highlight: A Day In The Life Of ... Karina Romero
5/14/2014 12:04:00 PM | Softball
Riverside—UC Riverside Softball utility player Karina Romero is in her junior season with the blue and gold, and we here at gohighlanders.com got to know her a little better this spring via our Highlander Highlights series.
(View Past Highlander Highlights)
Karina ...
... is a junior transfer from Cathedral City, CA
... in five years from now hopes to be in medical school
... is a psychology major
... is terrified of roller coasters
... enjoys learning new things
... will not eat mushrooms
If Karina could witness any event, she would want to witness Jackie Robinson play. That was a time when it was bigger than just the game of baseball.
Her favorite quote is, "Success is failure turned inside out." She believes the secret to a great life is to be happy, remain true to who you are, and to put your mind to something and do it.
Although Karina is left-handed, she hits from her right side. If she could learn to do anything, she would want to learn how to become an amazing cook.
To get to know your student-athletes, keep a lookout for more Highlander Highlights!
To support Karina and the rest of the student-athletes that make up our 17 intercollegiate sports, please donate to the UC Riverside Athletics Association by visiting the Association's web site.
