Vilaubi Ties For Fourth As Women's Golf Finishes Fourth At Desert Intercollegiate

Palm Desert, CA - The UC Riverside Women's Golf Team dropped two spots on Sunday to conclude play at the Wyoming Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate, finishing with a three-round score of 920 to place fourth out of 16 squads at The Classic Club. Complete Results. Day 1 Story.
The Highlanders vaulted into second place on Saturday following a low second-round, but shot 312 in the third round to fall back. UCR finished just one shot behind third place College of Charleston (919) and three back of second-place New Mexico State (917). San Jose State held on to their lead following the first day, and concluded with a three-round score of 893.
Savannah Vilaubi led UC Riverside with scores of 77-72-76 (225) to tie for fourth out of 92 individuals. The senior was just one stroke back of a tie for second place, and eight behind the winner, San Jose State's Megan Osland.
Freshman Hannah Facchini was the Highlanders second finisher placing ninth overall with a 228 (78-74-76), while Haley Wian tied for 20th at 233 (77-80-76).
Yuri Ahn tied for 39th with scores of 80-74-84 (238), while Brittani Ferraro shot 240 (80-76-84) to tie for 49th. Playing as individuals separate from the team score, Julia Sander tied for 64th with a 244 (82-85-77) while Paris Griffith tied for 70th with 80-81-85 (246).
The Highlanders next return to the links on October 20-21 for the Santa Clara Colby Invitational in San Jose, CA.
