Norberto Ochoa's Two Scores Help Men's Soccer To 3-1 Win Over Sacramento State

Riverside - Norberto Ochoa netted his sixth and seventh goals of the season Saturday evening leading the UC Riverside Men's Soccer Team to a 3-1 victory over visiting Sacramento State.

Ochoa put the Highlanders (5-5-1, 1-1-0) on top early scoring in the ninth minute off of a pass from Emilio Huerta. Huerta stole the ball in the Hornets in UC Riverside's defensive end and traveled unabated for 60 yards before drawing the defense to him, and slotting a pass to Ochoa on the right side. The senior put the ball inside the far post to pur UCR up 1-0.

Kouri Nago made it 2-0 Highlanders late in the first as Zach Dunn found him on the right side of the Sac State box for his first score of the season.

Ochoa scored his seventh goal of the year in the 68th minute as he and Michael Salazar worked a give and go up the center of the field.

The Hornets (3-6-1, 0-2-0) prevented the shutout when Jessie Gonzalez scored with 13:14 remaining in the match.

The Highlanders hit the road this weekend for matches at UC Santa Barbara on Thursday, October 8 and cal Poly on Saturday, October 10. Both matches kick off at 7 pm PT.
