Riverside, CA—The UC Riverside Women's Golf Team hosted CSU Bakersfield Sunday, in an 18-hole duel match at Canyon Crest Country Club.

The Highlanders and Runners played eight head-to-head matches in this year's event, and split them four a piece. UCR got strong performances from Jaykeisha Le and Julie Sander, as both won their matches 6 & 5 (six holes ahead with just five holes remaining). Haley Wian won her match 3 & 1, while Paris Griffith needed 18 holes to claim the 1-up victory.

The Highlanders completed a successful three-event fall season that included championships at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic, and the Cal Poly Lady Mustang Invitational, as well as a top-five finish in the New Mexico Aggie Invitational.

Hannah Facchini claimed an individual title at the Lady Mustang Invitational, and was runner-up at the Cowgirl Classic. Freshman Jakeishya Le finished in the top-10 of all three tournaments the Highlanders were entered, while Paris Griffith and Haley Wian each had a top-10 finish of their own.

The UCR Women's Golf Team will be off for the remainder of the fall, and will return to action February 8, 2016 at the CSUN Matador Invitational in Simi Valley.
