Ochoa, Salazar, Copley And Lomeli Earn All-Conference Nods

Irvine, CA – The Big West Conference released the 2015 Men's Soccer All-Conference Teams this afternoon, naming UC Riverside forwards Norberto Ochoa and Michael Salazar to the First Team. Defender, Stephen Copley was named to the Second Team, and midfielder Romario Lomeli earned Honorable Mention accolades. View UC Riverside's all-time list of All-Conference honorees.

Ochoa finished the regular season tied for second in the Big West in goals with seven, and his 16 total points were the fifth most in the conference. Ochoa was named Big West Conference Offensive Player of the Week, and to the College Soccer News Team of the Week (story) the same week he recorded the second hat trick in UC Riverside's Division I history against San Francisco (box score/recap). He later added a pair of scores against Sacramento State (box score/recap) for his second multi-goal game of the season.

Salazar, who was named to the first team for the second year in a row, had six goals, and three assists for 15 points during the 2015 season. Two of his goals were game-winners, including in a 3-0 victory over San Jose State (box score/recap) in which he netted a pair of scores.

Copley helped anchor the Highlanders defense, and scored two goals in the five shots he took on goal this season. Copley was named to the Big West Honorable Mention Team last season.
Lomeli led the team and finished seventh in the Big West with four assists on the year. This is the second year in a row the midfielder earned Honorable Mention honors. Lomeli was named to the All Freshman Team in 2013.
