Women's Golf Clinches A Victory At The Grand Canyon Invitational

Litchfield Park, AZ- The UC Riverside Women's Golf Team clinches the top spot Wednesday afternoon, after finishing three rounds at the Grand Canyon Invitational.

The Highlanders registered a team total 895, after firing a 294 today, for a score that is eight strokes ahead of second place. Coming in behind UCR is the host team Grand Canyon.

This is the second first place finish for the Highlanders in the 2014-15 season. In the fall, UCR took home the top-place finish at the Santa Clara Colby Classic (recap).

Leading the Highlanders on the links was Savannah Vilaubi, who fired a 74 on all three days, finishing in a tie for third place with a total 222, just five strokes behind individual winner, Charlotte Jaengkit, from Grand Canyon.

Rounding out the Highlanders in the top-20 are Brittani Ferraro (tied for seventh), Hannah Facchini (tied for 12th), and Haley Wian (tied for 19th) shooting a 224, 226, and 228, respectively.

The Highlanders are back in action March 8 at the Bay Area Intercollegiate in Fairfax, CA.
