David Gazzolo And Sam Gillis Finish Second and Third At The OGIO Santa Barbara Intercollegiate

Santa Barbara—UC Riverside Men's Golf finished finished the 2015 OGIO Santa Barbara Intercollegaite Tuesday afternoon in 2nd out of a field of eight teams that included three Big West members.

The Highlanders shot a 294 and 292 on day one of the tournament and finished out the third round, firing a 290 for a total score of 876. UC Riverside was just two strokes behind tournament winner and host UC Santa Barbara, and finished ahead of fifth and sixth place Long Beach State and CSUN.

Three Highlanders finished in the top-20 with David Gazzolo leading the way. Gazzolo fired a 68 which was four under par. He was just one stroke shy of the individual winner, Hunter Robinson from UCSB. Coming in right behind Gazzolo in a tie for third was Sam Gillis led the squad also finishing with an under par score for the third round at 71. Rounding out the top finishers for the Highlanders was freshman Anthony Bonales matching his second round score with a 75.
