Women's Golf Finishes Third At The Big West Championship

Riverside— The UC Riverside Women's Golf Team closed out the Big West Championship in a tie for third place with Long Beach State Tuesday afternoon.
The Highlanders fired a team total 306 in the final round of competition as they went back and forth with the 49ers all day. This is the highest ranking for the blue and gold since the 2006-07 season when they finished third out of five teams.
Two Highlanders finished the tournament in the top-10 including senior Savannah Vilaubi in sixth and freshman Hannah Facchini in ninth. Facchini jumped nine spots through out the tournament after ending day one in 18th. Maintaining a spot in the top-20 was Haley Wian who jumped up two spots to take home 17th out of a field of 40 individuals.
UC Riverside finished in the top-three in five out of its nine tournaments this season. Three of those finishes were first place victories, one at the Santa Clara Colby Invitational, Grand Canyon Invitational, and the Highlander hosted Battle At The Rock.
