Men's Soccer Tops LMU 3-2 In Exhibition Match

Riverside—The UC Riverside Men's Soccer Team won its lone exhibition match of the 2015 season Tuesday evening topping visiting LMU, 3-2 (watch video highlights).

The teams played a 90-minute match followed by a series of practice penalty kicks, and a 20-minute "overtime" period.

All the goals were scored in regulation as the Highlanders erased a 2-1 deficit in the second half. Adrien Perez scored both goals for the Lions before intermission, sandwiched around a Norberto Ochoa score.

Just under 10 minutes into the second half, Johnny Tovar tied the score at two, punching in the rebound of his own shot. Less than two minutes later, Michael Salazar gave the Highlanders the lead, ending the scoring after collecting a cross from Emilio Huerta and depositing it in the net from six yards out.

UC Riverside begins its regular season on Friday, August 28 at Concordia beginning at 3 pm PT.
