Simi Valley, CA—The UC Riverside Men's Golf Team finished 15th at the Bill Cullum Invitational at Wood Ranch Golf Club today (
Final results).
Matt Lutz was the top finisher on the team in a tie for 15th at -3, after an even-par 72 in the final round. For Lutz, it was his third under-par finishing total in as many events this season.
Sophomore Andrew Spilman's +1, 217 total was the best of his collegiate career, and the 2016 Bill Cullum Invite marks the first tournament in which he shot two rounds below par.
Pachara Sakulyong returned to the lineup today, after being forced to withdrawal from yesterday's play with an injury.
UC Santa Barbara (-31), held on to claim the team title. UC Irvine finished 16 shots back in second at -15, four strokes ahead of Long Beach State in third at -11.
USC individual Johan Texeira (-14) shot a final round 68, his third round in the 60s, to earn individual medalist honors.
The team is off next week, and wraps-up the fall season with the Pacific Invitational in Stockton, CA October 27-29.
