Final Round Charge Moves Women's Golf To Third, Ahn Finishes Tied For Sixth At The Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate

Palm Desert—The UC Riverside Women's Golf Team made a final round charge that moved them up to a third place finish at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate at the Classic Club.
Yuri Ahn continued her strong play, the senior from Livermore, CA followed up her career-best three-under par 69 in the second round with a one-over 73 to finish at +5 in a tie for sixth—the first top-10 of her career.
Hannah Facchini bounced back from a second round 80 to card her second one-under 71 of the tournament, and capture her 10th career top-10 result. Facchini finished teid for 10th at +6, one shot ahead Jakeishya Le alone in 14th at +7.
The Highlanders' (+25) final round 294 was the third best team round of the tournament, which helped them finish third, seven shots back of event champion Santa Clara (+7) and just two back of Cal Poly (+23) in second.
Santa Clara's Annie Freeman (-6) cruised to the individual title with an ever par 72 in the final round, leaving her six shots clear of Southern Utah's Kamonwon Prasurtwong and Hawaii's Isebella Leung in a tie for second at even par for the tournament.
The UC Riverside Women's Golf Team will have just a few days off before they head to Denver, CO for the Ron Moore Collegiate Friday, October 7th-9th.
