Irvine, CA—The Big West announced today that UC Riverside's Sean Yun is the Conference Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week for his play from March 7-13.

Last week, the senior won all three #2 singles matches, extending his win streak to six straight. He has also won eight of his last nine matches.

On March 9 against Westmont (ranked #9 in the NAIA), Yun topped Trevor Kimsy in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4. He followed that up the following day with another straight-set victory, this time over Liberty's Alex Poynter, 6-4, 6-2, against UConn on March 13, he again recorded a straight-set victory, 6-2, 6-4, over Christopher Toner.

Under new Head Coach Mattias Johansson, the Highlanders are 9-9 on the year, and have recorded as many wins this season as they did the last three years combined. The last time UC Riverside posted more than nine wins in a campaign was in 2007 when the team finished 10-12.
