Lakeside—The UC Riverside Men's Golf team finished ninth in the Barona Collegiate Cup.
The Highlanders entered the final round just five shots off the top-5, but were unable to make a charge over the final 18 holes.
Event host #24 San Diego State (-26) increased their lead over second place Minnesota (+16) by 17 shots to finish 42 shots clear of the field to claim the team title. Boise State (+20) jumped up in from fourth to finish in third.
The Highlanders (+22) finish alone in 9th after moving up to as high as sixth throughout the round. UC Santa Barbara (+27) came away in fourth and UC Irvine (+35) in sixth. (

The overall individual title was claimed by
Minnesota's Runar Arnorsson (-8), who held on to the lead he carried into the final round. San Diego State's Brian Song (-6) was second, while Alabama State's
Branson Ferrier (-5) and San Diego State's Ryann Ree (-5) tied for third.
Michael Wong (+8) was the top UCR finisher in the event with a tie for 26th result. The Highlanders swing back into April 2-3, at the Aggie Invitational in Bryan, TX.
