Gillis And Lutz Earn Top-10s, Men's Golf Finishes 10th At The El Macero Classic

El Macero—Sam Gillis And Matt Lutz each finished tied for 10th in the El Macero Classic. The UC Riverside Men's Golf team finished alone in 10th after starting the day ninth. 

Gillis and Lutz each shot 73 in the final round on their way to earning a top-10 result. It is the fifth top-10 of the season for Gillis and the third for Lutz.

Texas Tech (876) maintain its lead to claim the team title by eight shots over Oregon State (884), who shot a team low round of the tournament 282, -6 in the final round to leapfrog third place host UC Davis (886). 

The individual title went to TCU's Ryan Books, who defeated Oregon State's Kevin Murphy on the first hole (#6) of a playoff after both finished at ever par. TCU's Paul Barjon,Texas Tech's Ivan Ramirez, Federico Zacchetti, and Hurly Long all finished tied for third at +1.

The Big West Championships are next on the schedule for the Highlanders. They will be held May 2-4 at Wood Ranch Golf Club in Simi Valley.
