Riverside—Paris Griffith and freshman Hailey White finished in the top-five, and the UC Riverside Women's Golf Team's final round charge came up just short as they were third in the Battle at the Rock at Oak Quarry Golf Club. (Final results)

Griffith shot a two-under 70 in the final round–one of four sub par rounds in the tournament. The two-under 70 matched her previous career-best 18-hole total, which she shot in the final round of the 2016 Battle at the Rock.

Wian's second round 68 remained the event low, as the Highlanders carded two of the four rounds in red figures. 

The Highlanders, who started the day on fourth, shot 300 in the final round the second-best team round of the day. The opening round team 325 proved too much to overcome, as UCR outplayed the field by 12-plus shots in rounds two and three to moved up to a third place finish.

White shot a two-over 74 in earning her first top-5 in just her third tournament as a Highlander. "I was very pleased with the poise and maturity she showed." said Head Coach Mary Ritchie of White. "To finish in the top-5 as a freshman in this 15-team field is impressive. I'm excited about her future." 

Cal Poly rallied the final round to claim the team crown, besting second place Hawai'i by 11 shots on day two to win by six.

NAU's Sofia Anokhina held on to her overnight lead to secure medalist honors an even par by five shots over Cal State Fullerton's Martina Edberg (+5).

The Riverside Women's Golf Team returns to the links February, 27-28 in the Long Beach State hosted Gold Rush.
