Irvine–Today the Big West Conference announced that UC Riverside junior Jenna Curtan (Roseville, CA/Woodcreek HS) was named Big West Softball Player of the Week for games played February 20-26.
Curtan had a standout performance in helping the Highlanders finish 4-1.
The center fielder hit .727 (8-for-11) with an .813 on-base percentage and 1.000 slugging percentage as the Highlanders also won three of their four games at the UCR-hosted Amy S. Harrison Classic.
Retired just once in her last nine at bats on the weekend, Curtan produced four straight multi-hit games, scored five times and had six RBI. She also stole a pair of bases.

"I'm really proud of Jenna for her achievements this past weekend. She put in a lot of work behind the scenes, both mentally and physically that undoubtedly reflected in her performance", said Head Coach Nikki Palmer of her center fielder.
In UCR's final game of the tourney, a 12-4 decision over Siena, Curtan was a perfect 2-for-2 with a run scored and an RBI.
