Men's Golf Lands In Sixth, Lutz T11 At The Sacramento State Invitational

Sacramento, CA–The UC Riverside Men's Golf Team finished sixth, and Matt Lutz came in 11th in the Sacramento State Invitational at Valley Hi Country Club. (final results)
Lutz, and Sam Gillis each carded an even par 72s in the final round of play. Gillis finished the tournament tied for 19th on the individual leaderboard.
Grand Canyon held on to its day one lead to claim the team title by 12 strokes over Cal State Fullerton in second. GCU's Billy Comeaux (-4) shot a one-under 71 to overtake UCSB's Brandon Bauman (-3), who finished tied for runner-up along with the Lopes' Vinnie Murphy, to earn medalist honors.
The Highlanders are scheduled to tee up again next weekend in the ASU Thunderbird Invitational in Tempe, AZ March 18-19.
