Final results)
Spilman, who came into the day inside the top-10 (8th), made birdie on the par 5, 2nd to get his round, which started on the 10th, to +1. However, he played the final seven holes at +4 en route to a final round 77, which landed him alone in 19th.
Gillis had the best UCR round of the tournament, an even par 72 in the final 18 to move 23 spots up the leaderboard into a tie for 20th.
Seattle U (+30) shot a team one-under par 287 to overtake Fresno State and Oregon State by a single stroke for the team title.
UC Davis' Ben Coffee won the individual title with a -1 finishing score.
The Highlanders have over two weeks to prepare to defend their 2016 Big West Championship at the 2017 conference tournament May 1-3 at Sandpiper Golf Club in Santa Barbara.
