Riverside—The UC Riverside Women's Golf Team has two more tournaments on its 2017 regular season docket, but preparations for the Big West Championship have been underway for months. The Highlanders' host the 31st annual event, April 23-25, at Oak Quarry Golf Club. Admission to the three-day tournament is free of charge.
The championship is a three-day, 54-hole tournament with 18 holes played each day. Each round begins at 7:30 am.

The Highlanders won the 2016 title thanks to a last-day surge, which saw them erase a three-stroke deficit, to win by four shots (
read recap). It was the first conference championship for the program. and UC Riverside went on to compete in its first NCAA Regional that same year.
Freshman Jakeishya Le finished 15th at the regionals, narrowly missing out on an opportunity to play in the NCAA Championship (

Oak Quarry Golf Club boasts an 18-hole, 72-par championship course, designed by Dr. Gil Morgan/Schmidt Curley Designs. The CGCOA's 2011 Course of the Year winds through the picturesque jagged terrain of the historical Jensen Quarry. Since opening in 2000, this course has received many awards including "Best Course Inland Southern California," "Hole #14 rated Best Par 3 in Southern California," and "Hole #4 Prettiest Par 4."
