Santa Barbara, CA– The UC Riverside Men's Golf 2017 Season came to a close in the Big West Championship at Sandpiper Golf Club, where they finished eighth.
Sophomore
Andrew Spilman fired a two-under 70 on day three on his way to claiming team honors in a tie for 21st for the championship.
Senior
Sam Gillis carder a two-under 74 in his final round for the blue and gold. He finished his collegiate career in style with a birdie on the par four 9th having started on hole 10 in the final round. Gillis came in with a three-day total of 220, tied for 26th in the fourth conference event of his career.
Tournament host UC Santa Barbara withstood a final round charge from CSUN to claim the title by a single stroke. The Matadors' move up the team leaderboard was aided by Felix Mory's 10-under 206 tally, which earned him individual medalist honors.
Pachara Sakulyong also concluded his career for UC Riverside. The senior from Bangkok, Thailand finished +12 in a tie for 37th after 54 holes of play.
