Riverside—The UC Riverside Athletics Department held its annual end-of-year Scotty Awards on Thursday evening, and Softball player Rebecca Faulkner won the Golden Ankle Wrap Award, presented annually to the student-athlete whose dedication, work ethic, and positive attitude in rehabilitating an injury are deemed most outstanding.

Faulkner (Redwood City, CA) missed the entire 2016 season and portions of 2017, battling back from three surgeries to earn All-Region accolades in 2017 (story). The redshirt junior hit .370 this season with a .443 on base percentage, and a .444 slugging percentage. She also picked up a win and a save in the circle for the Highlanders in 21.2 innings pitched.
