Women's Golf Finishes Tied For 15th At Golfweek Conference Challenge

Wolcott, CO—The UC Riverside Women's Golf Team finished tied for 15th place Wednesday at the Golfweek Conference Challenge. Freshman Serena Chon came in tied for 19th to lead the Highlanders with a three-day card of 71-73-76-220.

TOURNAMENT NOTES
Serena Chon became the first UC Riverside freshman to lead the Highlanders at a tournament since Jakeishya Le did it at the NCAA Regionals on May 5-7, 2016. Le did it on three other occasions during the 2015-16 campaign.
Hana Furuichi eagled the 14th with a two on the par-4, 365-yard hole.
Of the 18 teams participating in the Golfweek Conference Challenge, 11 participated in the NCAA postseason a year ago.
Julia Sander and Hannah Facchini each recorded three birdies on the day, while Furuichi had two birdies and an eagle. Facchini's 73 was the Highlanders' low score of the day.
