Riverside, CA—The UC Riverside Women's Tennis Team (1-4) fell, 6-1, to Cal State Fullerton (3-1) at the SRC Tennis Courts, Saturday.
The Cal State Fullerton Titans took a 1-0 lead after winning the doubles point, sweeping all three doubles matches. Partners Karla Dulay and Tracy Van fought a tight battle against opponents Jadie Acidera and Danielle Pham, but the Titans pairing edged out a 6-4 victory.
Tia Elpusan was the lone victor for the Highlanders in singles play. Elpusan (2-1 in singles) won her No. 4 singles match against opponent Luxizi Meng (7-6, 4-6, 10-6).
Tracy Van had a second set comeback in singles, but opponent Jadie Acidera prevailed (6-4, 7-6).
NEXT UP
The Highlanders travel to Las Vegas, NV for three contests next weekend. UCR will take on Colorado State University and UNLV on Saturday, February 10, and face Youngstown State University on Sunday, February 11.
