Phoenix, Ariz.— The UC Riverside Golf Team had a strong outing at the GCU Invitational this weekend as the Highlanders placed 5th out 15 shooting 13 over par as a team with three round total of 862. UCR carded a 278 as a team during the 2nd round, which ties for 6th best on the all-time UCR record and is the best round yet under Head Coach

Tyler Moore led the Highlanders as he finished tied for 8th after scoring a 67 in the 2nd round, which was the best 18-hole score by any player.
TOURNAMENT NOTES
Tyler Moore's score after the first two rounds (138) is tied for the 7th lowest 36-Hole total all-time in UCR history. He has now carded a 67 three times this season, which is still the best 18-hole score by any Highlander this year.
The Highlanders recorded 171 Pars over the weekend, which was the 2nd most by any team, and also added the 5th most birdies with 42. As an individual, red shirt senior
Brandon Tsujimoto tied for 1st in pars posting 42 in the competition and Moore tied for 1st in birdies with 13.
UCR put in the 3rd best performance on Par 4's averaging a score of 4.07 and shooting +12.
This was the 2nd best placement that the Highlanders have had as a team this season and have now placed in the Top-7 in the last three tournaments.
UC Riverside is back in action exactly one month from now as the team will cap off the regular season at the UC Santa Barbara Invitational. The first day of competition is set for April 16th, 2018 at Sandpiper Golf Club in Santa Barbara, CA.
