Strength & Conditioning

The UC Riverside Strength and Conditioning staff is a vital component in the athletic development of all of UCR's student-athletes.

In a cooperative effort with the sports medicine staff and the various sport coaches, specialized plans are developed for each sport that will help maximize a student-athletes performance. The focus of the strength and conditioning staff is on the following areas:

    * Emphasizing core strength
    * Train with ground based lifts
    * Train movements that incorporate multiple muscle groups
    * Train for power
    * Train to improve athleticism
    * Develop a strong attitude and work ethic
    * Train both bilaterally and unilaterally
    * Develop good habits that promote growth and improvement

Through continued research and learning the UC Riverside strength and conditioning staff will continue to deliver the best and most effective strength and conditioning programs to all of UCR's student-athletes.
