UC Riverside Athletics Hall of Fame
Russ Bollinger played tight end at UC Riverside in 1972 and 1973 before being taken by the Detroit Lions in the third round of the 1976 NFL Draft. Bollinger continued his career with the Los Angeles Rams and USFL's Memphis Showboats before serving as a graduate assistant and recruiting coordinator for the University of Utah.
Bollinger entered scouting and became an area scout for the Jacksonville Jaguars in 1994. He eventually served as a college scout, college scouting director, college scouting coordinator and assistant pro director during nine seasons with the Lions before moving on to the St. Louis Rams, Washington Redskins and Atlanta Falcons.
