Women's Tennis Tops Titans 5-2 To End Regular Season Play

Fullerton, CA - The UC Riverside women's tennis team earned their first Big West Conference victory of the season with a 5-2 win at Cal State Fullerton on Thursday afternoon in their last regular season match of the year.
The Highlanders (8-10, 1-7) got things started by taking two of the three doubles matches to secure the coveted doubles point. The tandem of Erynne Oki and Roxanne Plata defeated their opponents 8-3 at the top spot, while Donna McCullough and Angelique Corpuz picked up an 8-2 win at the middle position to secure the point.
in singles play, UCR won four of the six matches to take home the win. Oki extended her singles winning streak to seven consecutive with a 6-2, 1-6, 6-1 victory over Leslie Bullock at the No. 1 spot. McCullough earned a 6-4, 6-0 win at the second position, Nadia Sakhakorn won easily 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 3 position, and Yasaman Sakhakorn got the 7-5, 6-0 victory at the sixth spot to round out the Highlander lineup.
The Highlanders now head to the Big West Conference Tournament and will have a rematch with Cal State Fullerton on Thursday, April 16 at 3:00 pm in Indian Wells.
