The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) released its world rankings this week, and UCR's Brenda Martinez is ranked 17th in the 1500m following her 4:13.58 performance at the Payton Jordan Cardinal Invitational on May 2. That's 17th . . . IN THE ENTIRE WORLD. She is sixth among US runners and the youngest American on the list. Next up for Martinez and the Highlanders is the Big West Conference Championship at UC Irvine on May 15 and 16.
