Women's Golf Jumps Two Spots to Finish Fifth at Bulldog & Eagle Invite

Spokane, WA - The UC Riverside women's golf team jumped up two spots after the third round of play on Tuesday morning to finish fifth out of 14 teams at the Bulldog & Eagle Invitational at Hangman Valley Golf Club. Led by a career-low 71 from junior Natalie Guidry (pictured), the Highlanders shot a third-round 297 - the third lowest team score of the tournament. UCR finished with a 932 total, just 32 strokes behind the first place team. Complete Results
Senior Alexandra Erdman finished as the Highlanders top competitor, lowering her scores in each round for a 227 (77-76-74) total and a ninth place finish. Freshman Amelia Ek (78-77-73) also lowered her scores each round and shot a career-low 73 in the third round of play to finish tied for 12th.
Guidry's one-under-par 71 was the second-lowest of the day and fourth lowest for the tournament. Her three-round 233 (79-83-71) total tied her for 25th. Denyse Neville finished tied for 54th for the Highlanders with scores of 82-84-79=245, while Linda Ong tied for 65th with a 250 (82-83-85).
Northern Arizona claimed team tournament honors with a three-round 900, while Montana (906) finished second, Gonzaga (913) finished third, Cal State Northridge (921) came in fourth, and UC Riverside rounded out the top five. Gonzaga's Victoria Falgren shot a school-record 67 in the final round to take home individual medalist honors with a three-round 217 total.
The Highlanders next return to the links on October 5-6 at the Coast BMW Invite hosted by Cal Poly in Nipomo, CA.
