Women's Tennis Makes It Two In A Row With 6-1 Win At San Jose State

San Jose, CA - The UC Riverside women's tennis team won its second consecutive match during spring break week with a 6-1 victory at San Jose State on Thursday afternoon after previously defeating UC Santa Cruz 8-1 on Wednesday.
The Highlanders won two of three doubles matches to earn the first point of the day as the duo of Donna McCullough and Nadia Sakhakorn earned a win at No. 2 doubles, and Taylor Raney and Natalie McKay picked up a win at No. 3 doubles.
In singles play, UCR swept the matches from Nos. 1-5 to pick up five additional points for the 6-1 win.
At the top spot, Sakhakorn defeated Chau Truong 4-6, 7-6 (3), 10-3 in three sets. Raney defeated Kerri Kummer 7-6 (4), 6-3 at No. 2, while McCullough took her match to three frames but came out with the victory as she defeated Olivia Marshall 7-6 (6), 6-1.
At the fourth and fifth positions, McKay and Angelique Corpuz won fairly easily with a 6-3, 6-3 and 6-1, 6-2 match respectively.
The Highlanders conclude their spring break road trip on Saturday, Mar. 27 with a match at Santa Clara.
