Men's Tennis Drops Close 4-3 Decision To UC Davis In Big West Play

Davis, CA - The UC Riverside men's tennis team continued Big West Conference play on Saturday afternoon with a close 4-3 loss at UC Davis.

The Aggies swept the doubles matches for the early 1-0 lead, but the Highlanders battled back in singles play by winning three of six matches.

John Park defeated Toki Sherbakov 2-6, 6-2, 6-3 for a win at No. 2 singles, while Austin Andres (pictured) defeated Tyler Lee 6-2, 6-3 at the third position, and Mike Conroy defeated Chris Aria 6-3, 2-6, 1-0 (10-6) at No. 4.

The Highlanders' three singles victories were not enough to win them the match, however, as UC Davis needed just a split in the singles matches to earn the win.

UC Riverside continues Big West play with a 10:00 am match at Pacific on Sunday, Apr. 18 in Stockton, CA.
