
Women's Golf Tied For 9th Out Of 23 Squads At Cowgirl Classic

Scottsdale, AZ - After two complete rounds of play on Monday at the Cowgirl Classic at Ocotillo Golf Club, the UC Riverside women's golf team is tied for ninth place out of 23 teams with a 625 (306-319) team score.
The Highlanders are tied with Gonaga for ninth place but are nine strokes back of eighth place with one round remaining. Texas El Paso is the current team leader with a 594 two-round score.
Individually for UCR, senior Alexandra Erdman leads the squad with a seven-over-par 151 (76-75) to tie for 14th place out of 120 competitors. Freshman Amelia Ek is just one stroke behind Erdman with a 152 (75-77) to tie for 17th place.
Rounding out the squad is Natalie Guidry with a 159 (76-83), Tiffany Koyano fired a 163 (79-84), and Linda Ong with a 169 (79-90).
Montana's Lauren Howell and Northern Arizona's Stephanie Kim are tied for the individual honors with a two-under-par 142 total.
The tournament concludes on Tuesday morning with a final 18-hole round of competition.
