Final Results Day 1 Story
Scottsdale, AZ - The UC Riverside women's golf team saved its best round for last on Tuesday at the Cowgirl Classic, but it wasn't enough to boost them higher in the final standings as they concluded the tournament in 10th place out of 23 teams with a three-round 930.
After shooting 306-319 on the first day of competition, the Highlanders came back with a third-round 305 led by 75s from Amelia Ek (pictured) and Tiffany Koyano, a 76 from Natalie Guidry, and a 79 from Linda Ong.
Ek paced UCR with a top-20 finish, tying for 19th place out of 120 players after firing a consistent 227 (75-77-75).
Alexandra Erdman dropped out of top-20 contention with a third-round 80, bringing her total to 231 (76-75-80) to tie for 32nd.
Guidry, Koyano and Ong all lowered their third rounds scores after a tough second round of competition. Guidry tied for 45th shooting 76-83-76 (231), Koyano placed T59th with a three-round 238 (79-84-75), and Ong tied for 96th with scores of 79-90-79 (248).
Northern Arizona's Stephanie Kim won individual medalist honors with an even-par 216 score.
The Highlanders have two weeks off before competing in the Big West Conference Championship on Apr. 19-20 at San Luis Obispo Country Club in San Luis Obispo, CA.
