Softball Concludes Opening Weekend With Loss To #10 Washington

Las Vegas, NV - The UC Riverside softball team concluded its opening weekend at the UNLV Sportco Kick-Off Classic with a 22-3 loss to No. 10 ranked Washington at Eller Media Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
After a scoreless first inning, the Huskies (5-0) broke open the game in the second by scoring 10 runs, then added five in the third and seven in the fourth.
UCR (1-4) plated one run in the third inning, and Kayla White's two RBI home run in the fifth added two more, but it wasn't enough to match Washington, who went on for the 22-3 win.
The Highlanders now return home to host the aTen Construction Tournament at Amy S. Harrison Field starting Friday, February 18 in Riverside.
