Kayla White Named Big West Conference Softball Player Of The Week

UC Riverside softball sophomore Kayla White has been named this week's Big West Conference Player of the Week after hitting .529 and slugging .765 during the Highlanders opening weekend tournament in Las Vegas.
White recorded nine hits in 17 at bats, hitting safely in all five games at the UNLV Sportco Kick-Off Classic. She tied her career-high with three hits against UNLV on Friday, and set a career-high with two runs in UCR's 7-6 win against Mississippi State on Saturday.
The San Jose native also recorded three RBI and hit the first home run of the year against #10 Washington on Sunday.
The Highlanders host the aTen Construction Tournament beginning Friday, February 18 at Amy S. Harrison Field in Riverside.
