UCR Drops Second Straight Big West Match With 7-0 Loss To Cal Poly

Riverside, CA - The UC Riverside women's tennis team dropped its second straight Big West Conference match with a 7-0 loss to Cal Poly at the SRC Tennis Courts on Sunday afternoon.
Doubles action was very close at the first and second spots as UCR's duo of Taylor and Jamie Raney lost a close one 8-6 at No. 1, and Natalie McKay and Nadia Sakhakorn dropped a 9-7 match at No. 2.
In singles play, Taylor Raney lost her first set by a close 7-6 margin at No. 1 before falling 6-3 in the second set. At No. 3, Sakhakorn dropped her first set 7-5, but could not pull off the victory.
In the other four singles matches, Cal Poly never surrendered more than two points as they swept for the victory.
The Highlanders return to the SRC Tennis Center to host CSU Bakersfield on Thursday, March 3 at 2 pm.
