Men's Tennis Opens Spring Break Road Trip With 7-0 Loss To Gaels

Moraga, CA - The UC Riverside men's tennis team opened its spring break road trip on Tuesday afternoon with a 7-0 loss at Saint Mary's.
UCR's duo of Kevin Griffin and Ryan Stanbury played the closest doubles match at No. 3 with an 8-5 loss. UCR dropped the doubles point as Saint Mary's won 8-3 and 8-4 respectively at Nos. 1 and 2.
In singles action, the Gaels won all six matches to conclude the sweep. Austin Andres played Sherif Hamdy tough at No. 3 before falling 6-4, 6-3. Quoc Doan took his second set to a 7-5 score but could not rally back from a 6-0 defeat in the first set.
The Highlanders continue their spring break road trip at Santa Clara on Thursday, March 24 at 11:00 am.
