Riverside, CA - The UC Riverside men's tennis team was swept 7-0 by the No. 63 ranked UC Irvine Anteaters at Andulka Park Tennis Center on Friday afternoon.
The match began with the doubles action, and UCR's duo of Austin Andres and Felix Macherez took their match to the limit before falling 8-7 at No. 2.
In singles play, the Highlanders had competitive matches in the bottom flight, highlighted by Michael Conroy's heart breaking 7-6, 7-6 loss at No. 4.
The match, which was videoed and will be aired on Riverside City's Government Access Channel on a date and time still to be determined, was the second match in 2011 at Andulka Park for the Highlanders. UCR had previously hosted the University of Oregon on February 18.
UC Riverside returns to the SRC Tennis Courts to host Loyola Marymount on Friday, April 8 beginning at 2 pm in Riverside.
