Men's Golf Moves Up Two Spots To Conclude Saint Mary's Invitational

Seaside, CA—The UC Riverside men's golf team moved up two spots to conclude the Saint Mary's Invitational on Tuesday firing a third-round 303 to tie for 10th place with Florida Gulf Coast and Cal State Northridge with 915 total scores.
The Highlanders were just one stroke back of ninth-place Hawaii and three behind UC Irvine in eighth place.
Oregon held on to its day one lead, winning the team competition with an 11-under-par 853 score. UAB finished in second with 866 while the host Gaels came in third at 881.
BJ Doucett was UCR's top finisher tying for 25th place with rounds of 74-71-78 (223).
Robbie Mamo had the Highlanders best score in the third round, shooting a 75 to go along with his 80-74 from the first day for a 229 total to tie for 42nd.
Matt Fitzgerald and David Gazzolo were two strokes apart with 233 and 235 scores respectively to tie for 56th and 58th place.
Ryan Smith shot his best score of the tournament in the third round with a 76 to tie for 73rd with a 240 total.
Cal State Northridge's Chris Russo was the individual medalist with a nine-under-par 207.
The Highlanders return to the links at the Firestone Grill Invitational hosted by Cal Poly on October 23 in Nipomo, CA.
