Women's Basketball Heads To Central Coast For 7 PM Tip At Cal Poly Thursday

The UC Riverside women’s basketball team is headed for the central coast this weekend starting with a January 12 Big West Conference game at Cal Poly. Tip time on Thursday is slated for 7:00 pm in San Luis Obispo.
The Highlanders are looking for their first conference victory of the season after falling in each of the last four games. UCR’s 2-13 overall record is also the fewest wins through 15 games in the program’s Division I history.
Cal Poly enters Thursday’s game with a 2-0 mark in league play with wins over UC Santa Barbara (61-58) and Cal State Fullerton (76-69). Prior to these victories, however, the Mustangs lost seven consecutive games dating back to Nov. 30.
Redshirt senior Kristina Santiago paces the Mustangs and the conference averaging a double-double of 24.0 points and 10.5 rebounds a game.
UC Riverside owns the all-time series record against Cal Poly, 32-26.
