UC Riverside Women's Tennis Drops Season Opener 7-0 At SDSU

San Diego, CA - After rain postponed the UC Riverside women's tennis team's season opener at San Diego State last weekend, the Highlanders took to the courts once again on Saturday morning, but dropped a 7-0 decision to the Aztecs.

SDSU swept the doubles point, and won all but one set in the singles competition. UCR's Kate Bergeson won her first set 6-3 at No. 6, but her opponent, Kristin Buth, won the second set 6-2, and proceeded to win the tiebreaker 10-8.

The Highlanders now host CSU Bakersfield in the team's 2012 home opener on Thursday, February 2 for a 2:00 pm start at the SRC Tennis Courts in Riverside.
