60th Ranked UC Irvine Hands UCR Women's Tennis 7-0 Loss

Irvine, CA—The UC Riverside women's tennis team returned to Big West action on Thursday afternoon by dropping a 7-0 decision to No. 60 ranked UC Irvine.

The Anteaters showed why they're a nationally ranked team by sweeping the doubles matches and winning in straight sets in singles.

Jamie Raney challenged UCI's Kristina Smith at No. 1 singles, but lost a close battle 7-5, 6-4. Likewise, Natalie McKay lost her first set by the slimmest of margins, 7-6, before falling in the second set 6-3.

The Highlanders now prepare for three matches in three days starting next Friday, April 13 at Westmont in Santa Barbara, CA.
