"It was a good start," Head Coach Irv Ray stated. "We're happy with the progress in our training, and looking forward to the rest of the season."
Damajeria DuBose led the Highlanders with a third place finish out of 27 individuals with a time of 12:06. She was followed closely by Jzsanette Lindstrom and Alisha Brown who placed sixth and seventh respectively with 12:21 times.

Thirty seconds later the fifth and sixth runners from each team started, and thirty seconds later the third and fourth runners from each team started. Finally, another thirty seconds later, the first and second runners from each team started.
The Highlanders return to Riverside to host their annual Invitational on Saturday, September 15 at the UCR Ag/Ops Course. The women's 6000m race gets underway at 7:30 am PT with the women's 5000m collegiate open slated for 8:45 am.
