UC Riverside Softball To Host Coaches Clinic On December 15

Riverside—UC Riverside Head Softball Coach Linda Garza announced today that the Highlanders are hosting a coaches clinic on Saturday, December 15 from 9:30 am to 5 pm. The clinic is open to all coaches, instructors, parents, or players, and costs $100 per person.
This is the first-ever coaches clinic hosted by the Highlanders, and will include special guest speakers such as Sue Enquist, Deb Hartwig, Mike Stith, Susie Parra, Tony Rico, as well as the UCR coaching staff. The conference will cover building a championship program, hitting, slapping, infield, pitching, and more.
What to expect:
Six hours of insight and knowledge from some of the best softball coaches and instructors of the game. Discussion on valuable training techniques and philosophies used to help maximize player potential. Topics to be discussed will be hitting, pitching, defense, slapping and building a championship program. Come be part of this special event!
Guest Speaker: Sue Enquist
Former UCLA Head Softball Coach, with 27 years of coaching experience, 11 National Championships, UCLA's first athletic scholarship, All-American, National Champion, and Hall of Famer will be sharing her strategies on building a championship program.
Guest Speaker: Tony Rico
Well known within the fastpitch softball circuit nationwide, current head coach for the Worth Firecrackers and USA Junior Women's National team. His teams place their players in the nation's top universities year after year.
Guest Speaker: Deb Hartwig
Is a certified Right View Pro instructor and former assistant at Cal State Fullerton and San Diego State. She has spoken at the NFCA Convention on various topics and is a lead instructor for Just Softball.
Guest Speaker Mike Stith
Head Coach for Team Mizuno winners of the 2012 PFG 16 & under National Tournament. Trains and instructs many of today's top collegiate softball athletes. Widely regarded as one of the finest travel ball coaches.
Guest Speaker Susie Parra
A three-time All-American and national champion pitcher from Arizona. Parra served as an assistant at Cal State Fullerton for seven seasons and currently has her own pitching school. Susie was Arizona's first-ever National Player of the Year winner owns a number of Wildcat records and accolades. Parra currently serves as a coach for the So Cal Strikers.
UCR Coaching Staff:
The UCR coaches are no strangers to success. Their quest at UCR is to cultivate a winning tradition.Together, they are committed to the success of UC Riverside softball.
Coach Garza has led two programs to the NCAA Tournament and her teams have been ranked among the nation's elite in stolen bases, batting average and runs scored per game. Coach Cox was an All-American pitcher at Cal State Fullerton, represented Team USA and played six years in the NPF.
Coach Sievers was a three-time All-Big 12 selection and helped Texas advance to three Women's College World Series. Coach Stuart was an All-Pac 10 Team selection, named to the Women's College World Series All-Tournament Team, and helped Washington win the 2009 National Championship.
