Aaliyah Pena Signs National Letter Of Intent To Play For UC Riverside Women's Basketball

Riverside—UC Riverside Head Women's Basketball Coach John Margaritis announced today that Pleasant Grove High School's Aaliyah Pena has signed a national letter of intent to join the Highlanders for the 2014-15 season.
"We feel very fortunate to add someone of Aaliyah's caliber to our program," Margaritis stated. "She is a wonderful young lady who brings a great deal of versatility and athleticism to UC Riverside."
Pena, a 6-2 post player, is ranked 22nd on the NorCal Preps Top-40 list. She averaged 6.9 points, 8.2 rebounds and 2.7 blocks per game last season as a junior helping the Eagles to a 20-9 overall record.
"We know that Aaliyah is going to make us better," Margaritis continued. "She is a tremendous student-athlete and a great fit for the UC Riverside's Women's Basketball Team.Â
"We are excited to welcome Aaliyah to the Highlanders family."
