
Larry Cunningham Named To Big West Conference All-Tournament Team

Anaheim, CA—The Big West Conference named senior guard Larry Cunningham and sophomore guard Brittany Waddell to their respective Men's and Women's Big West Conference All-Tournament teams on Saturday. It is the first all-tournament honors for both players.
Cunningham (Downey, CA/Downey HS) produced back-to-back 23 point efforts it the Highlander's two tournament games. He led the Highlanders to their second ever post-season victory with their 62-54 first-round win over Cal Poly. In UCR's quarterfinal round match-up against eventual conference champion Cal State Fullerton, Cunningham led all scorers with his 23-point effort in an 81-69 loss. He finished the season with ten 20-plus scoring games including his season-high 31 points against Hawaii in which he also became UCR's all-time leading scorer. He received Big West All-Conference Honorable Mention after leading the team in scoring at 16.3 PPG and ends his collegiate career with 1,502 points.
Waddell (Hesperia, CA. Hesperia HS) put up 16 points and 12 points in UCR's two tournament match-ups. She finished with two three's and produced a 6-for-7 performance at the free-throw line in the Highlander's first-round 59-47 win over Cal State Fullerton. Waddell hit three from behind the arc and finished with 12 points in the 63-53 semifinal round loss to UC Davis the following day. She finished the season second on the team in scoring at 11.3 PPG and received Big West All-Conference Honorable Mention.
