Low Round Of The Day Moves Women's Golf Up To 2nd At Folino Invitational

City of Industry, CA - The low round of the day moved the UC Riverside Women's Golf Team up in the standings at the Folino Invitational, placing second out of 12 teams with one round to go.
The Highlanders were in eighth after a first-round 316, but fired a 299 on Monday to leap frog seven teams and move up into second, eight strokes back of the leader, Gonzaga, with a 607. The Highlanders 615 two-round score is five shots ahead of third place Cal State Fullerton (620).
Individually, Savannah Vilaubi carded a 70 on Monday to move up into a tie for third place with a 149 total score. After an opening-round of 85, Amelia Ek found her stride shooting a 71 in the second round to tie for 19th place (156).
Brittani Ferraro is in a tie for 14th for UCR with her 154 (75-79), while Christy Fogerty shot 82-79 (161) to tie for 33rd. Hannah Lee is in 48th place with a 165 (80-85), while playing as an individual, Tiffany Koyano has a 180 two-round score to place 68th.
Portland State's Aram Choi holds the indivdual lead with a five-over-par 147, with Gonzaga's Raychelle Santos in second (148), and UCR's Vilaubi tied with Stetson's Claudia Redinger in third (149).
The final round of the Folino Invitational gets underway Tuesday morning with a shotgun start at 7:30 am.
