Loyola Marymount Defeats Women's Tennis, 7-0

Los Angeles, CA - The UC Riverside Women's Tennis Team returned to action Thursday afternoon, dropping a 7-0 decision at Loyola Marymount.
UCR's Kate Bergeson and Thanh Doan won their doubles match at #3, 8-6, but LMU won close contests at the top two matches, 8-5 at #1 and 8-6 at #2, to earn the first point of the day.
In singles, Taylor Raney took her match to a tiebreaker, 6-7, 6-1, 10-3, before ultimately falling to Claudia Razzeto at number two. Natalie McKay at number three and Courtney Pattugalan at number four had close matches as well, 6-3, 6-3 and 6-4, 6-2 respectively, but could not pull out for the win.
Loyola Marymount took the other three singles matches in straight 6-0, 6-0 sets to claim the victory.
Next up for the Highlanders is a Saturday, February 9 match against UC Santa Barbara scheduled for 12 pm PT at Andulka Park in Riverside.
