Men's Tennis Competes With #71 Pacific In 4-2 Loss

Riverside, CA - The UC Riverside Men's Tennis Team closed out the regular season Sunday afternoon with a close 4-2 loss to No. 71 ranked Pacific at Andulka Park.
In doubles, the Tigers took the first point of the match with an 8-6 win at number one, and an 8-4 victory at number two.
In singles, Jimmy Roberts defeated Sem Verbeek at the top spot, 6-4, 6-4, while Simon Peters got the win in an incomplete match at number six.
Overall, Pacific won three of the singles matches and the doubles point to get the required four points to earn the victory.
"We played Pacific very tough today even though we were not at full strength," Head Coach Tim Downey stated. "Jimmy Roberts came up with a big win on Senior Day beating Sem Verbeek and Kevin Griffin posted a solid performance despite not finishing."
The Highlanders now prepare for the 2013 Big West Conference Championships starting April 25 at Indian Wells Tennis Garden in Indian Wells, CA.
