Santa Barbara, CA - The UC Riverside Men's Tennis Team continued action at the UCSB Classic Saturday with singles and doubles action. Day 1 Story.

In Flight A Singles, Cooper Bridge dropped his first match of the day to Grand Canyon's Phiip Kuenen, 6-2, 7-6. Bridge then advanced in his second match as his opponent from Cal, Nikhil Jayaskankar, withdrew.

In Singles Flight B, Julian Ruffin defeated Timothy Tran from Cal Poly, 6-4, 6-1, but dropped the next contest, 7-5, 6-2, to Fresno State's Euan McIntosh.

Playing in the winner's bracket in Flight C, Sean Robles dropped a 6-1, 6-4 decision to UC Davis' Everett Matlby, but rallied back to win his next match, 6-3, 7-5 against UC Santa Barbara's Ziad Sultan.

Also playing in Singles Flight C, Michael Carella lost to Axel Damiens from Cal Poly, 6-4, 6-3.

The UCSB Classic concludes on Sunday with additional singles and doubles action.
